Graphite will not only play a major role in the coming alternative energy revolution, but the individual carbon layers that make up this steel-grey mineral known as graphene, are also expected to revolutionize materials R&D.
Companies like Ceylon Graphite (CYL.V) are positioning themselves to capitalize on this impending graphite demand, but what sets Ceylon apart from other junior explorers in the graphite sector, is location, location, location.
Ceylon, a Canadian miner, is currently developing some highly prospective properties in Sri Lanka which is known to have the highest natural purity of graphite on the market and up until the second world war, the country was the largest graphite producer on the planet.
Bharat Parashar, chairman and CEO of Ceylon, spoke with Equity.Guru's own Chris Parry about the company's Sri Lankan assets, the state of the graphite sector and what investors can look forward to over the coming year.
